Arizona

We just returned from a last minute trip to Arizona. Jeremy's Grandfather passed away this week and we traveled out there for the memorial service. Of course I took my camera along and took advantage of practicing with any subject that would sit still long enough!

At The Park

Landon is, for lack of a better word to describe one of my best friends sons, my nephew. He is 6 months of complete adorableness. Don't you agree?
Sometimes, no matter if you love your auntie more then anyone else in the world, you can only handle so much of the paparazzi. Message received, love.
So, I shot ducks instead.

Day on the farm.

We spent Saturday morning at the Kromann's. They are two of our very best friends and they made us the tastiest breakfast! After breakfast the boys went and did what boys do on a farm and us girls went around and took some pictures. Here are some of the highlights.

(Quick sidenote: I'm going to try and be better about using a watermark on my images. So far I've been using Photobucket and it's kind of a pain. Any suggestions?)

The Beginning (Pre-DSLR)

Ever since I was a kid I have loved taking pictures. What reignited my interest recently was actually a wedding gift. Almost two years ago we were given a Sony Cybershot H10. For those that are not familiar it is basically a high quality point-and-shoot. I loved that camera. It look pictures of excellent quality and was very easy to use... until the flash burnt out. That's when I decided to bite the bullet and buy a DSLR. Here are a few of my favorite shots from before I got my big-girl camera.

Welcome!

I have decided to create this new blog to focus on my photography. Let me preface this adventure by saying I am VERY new to this. I've never taken a single class or received any training. People, I haven't even read but a couple of pages from my camera's manual. That brings me to my camera - a 12.1 megapixel Canon XSi.

I plan to chronicle my journey as I finally explore my love for photography. I hope that you enjoy what you find here. Everything from the content to the layout is a complete work in progress. Please fully utilize the comments section with questions and most importantly your tips! Eventually I will get into doing regular assignments and I would love it if you would share your work with me too!
